Top Speed in km/h.
Well, we all get bored some time and most people use their time productively. I on the other hand decided I could win the Suzuka 1000km in a GT300 car, just to make it hard.
To combat the lack of power the car must be faster in the corners, making sector 1 your strongest. Being human and race soft tyres allow this to happen, but you can normally short shift into 6th gear to gain a few tenths.
The setup is still petty rough, and the front end wears too quickly in the dry, I was tying to run the strategy of pitting at the end of laps 20, 42, 64, 86, 108, 130, 151 (172 finish). Although I couldn't match the NSX up front, the undercut allowed me to take a lead, and by the time I had made my second stop after another undercut, I almost had a pitstop in hand.
From there however it began to rain, and the race slowed down dramatically. In the dry you should run 2:06-2:08 without much trouble, and you need only have 60 lites of fuel on board at the start of a stint, so you can improve times in the 2nd stint. However in full wet conditions, 2:20-2:25 are the order of play, with 2:20 times being far superior to the AI. A key note, is to ALWAYS STAY ON SOFT TYRES. They provide better grip and speed than the rain or intermediate tyres. If the track is significantly wet when you pit, fill the car to the brim and run it until it is empty, which is roughly 40 laps, as tyre wear is not an issue once the track is damp.
I'm going to work this over and get better front tyre life, and see how it runs on a wheel, as I did this on a DS3 using L2 and R2 to shift gears.
Oh yeah total race time at 6:44'31.057 winning by 3 laps + 1 minute.
Although tuning isn't as effective as in GT4, it still shows that a human, good setupand strategy can do great things against the AI.
I think I labelled all the parts correctly, but I'd like to note I performed no power or part upgrades, only tyres and settings, not even the oil change.
i love your tunes mate great work! i wish i could use this car but i'm using the IS-F RM with no tune at all besides a little bit anyway keep up the great work
i am currently tunning a for mustang to remake the mustang lunguna seca
I'd just like to thank the people who have voted on this setup, I've been seemingly neglecting you guys for nearly a year now!
First up was thomas2012 in late 2011, then it was tomcatz in the middle of the year, closely followed by ludwig77, and finally Diogo who voted very recently.
Thanks guys, you make the effort worth while.
