demonracer and his antics Updated by Kerr 03/24/2004 5:33 PM
UPDATE 3/24/04: I have erased all existence of demonracer, outbackH6tuner and boxerengine from the database. Some comments in the home page threads may appear out of context because his comments are now gone.

Original Post:

Hey guys,

Just wanted to give props to nomeite, 69YenkoCamaro and SPOONCIVICTYPER for showing demonracer how a trash talking braggart is received here at gtvault. Alas, demonracer won't be around any more and I know that's going to break a lot of hearts. Just so we won't forget him and his legacy, I will soon update this post with links to some of his best comments. Hopefully this won't happen again any time soon.

It's my B-day! Updated by Kerr 06/22/2005 1:09 AM
Hey folks, I turned 29 yesterday. I would've posted last night but I was out getting wasted! Anyway, I have uncharacteristically not purchased much computer equipment in the past 2 years or so. My old 19" CRT monitor was starting to get out of focus to the point where I got headaches after looking at it for 10 minutes.

I'd been looking at LCD monitors for some time but never purchased one because the response times were never acceptable for playing games. A new generation of screens with 16ms response times is now on the market. After much research, I decided to go with a ViewSonic VP171s. I had to drive all the way across town to find one, but it was worth it. I fell in love with the colors, clarity and contrast immediately after I hooked it up. Plus it takes almost no desktop space to boot!

Here is a picture of my new toy. For those of you who are interested, I do a lot of my research for computer equipment at a few sites:

Tom's Hardware

In particular, there was a 17" LCD roundup over at Tom's Hardware that influenced my buying decision. Next up is a Logitech Cordless MX Duo. I'm going over to my Dad's today to celebrate my birthday, and will hopefully be receiving some Best Buy gift cards to ease the pain. Smile

Ford rules Posted by Kerr 02/01/2004 5:28 PM
I just saw the commercial for the Ford GT right after the coin toss -- you drift fans out there had to love that one! The GT is clearly the baddest car Ford has ever made... enjoy the game!

Happy Holidays all! Posted by Kerr 12/30/2003 8:09 PM
What up, kids? I just wanted to send out the obligatory 'Happy Holidays' message to everyone.

I trust you're all having a good time, those of you that celebrate Christmas that is. Me, I've been on vacation since the 22nd and won't return to work until 1/5/04. I've been basically sitting on my arse, watching a lot of X-Files and playing the hell out of Freelancer for the PC. It was way too easy -- beat it in 22 game hours.

On the gaming note, I wanted to let everyone know that I will be updating the site for the release of GT4. Bear in mind that a full car listing will not be immediately available. In fact, it may take quite some time because each car must be verified, etc.

Donating Members page Posted by Kerr 11/29/2003 10:59 AM
Hey everyone. I hope those of you that celebrate Thanksgiving in the US had a good holiday. As the top of the home page says, is hosted out of my own pocket. I felt that those who were generous enough to donate their hard earned money deserved some recognition, so I created the Donating Members page. The page lists all of the members who have donated money to

You may notice some donors are listed as anonymous. This is because the e-mail address they donated with did not match any accounts. If you are a donor listed anonymously and want to be listed otherwise (or vice versa), please let me know. Thanks to all those who have donated money to!

Downtime Posted by Kerr 11/25/2003 10:08 PM
As many of you may have noticed, gtvault has been down off and on for a few days. There was a snafu with my domain registration renewal. Depending on geographical location, some users may have trouble accessing the site for another 48 hours. No data was lost as a result of this problem.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

GT3 Car Rating System Posted by Kerr 11/17/2003 9:01 AM
Dadthewheel posted a request for help on developing a GT3 car rating system. Since the post was at the end of a very long thread, I have created a new thread.

GT4 Car List Updated by Kerr 07/31/2003 10:23 PM
Update part trois: Avi24 posted a release date of 1/7/2004 from Thanks for the post, Avi24!

Update part deux: GT2000 posted another link, this time to some GT4 Garage pics. Props to GT2000 -- enjoy!

Update: A member over at the GTP forums, Sage, e-mailed me the other day to say that the list of cars that has been circulating around is a wish list as opposed to a confirmed list. Just thought you folks should know. Here is another link to a lengthy thread about this at GTP.

GT2000 posted a link to a potential car list for GT4. If the list turns out to be accurate, I must say that I will be very satisfied. Let's hope the large quantity of cars doesn't mean a drop in quality elsewhere in the upcoming game. Take a look at the list here.

Usually I just ignore when people sign up with bogus e-mail addresses. They can't ever log into the site anyway since they'll never receive the confirmation e-mail. I logged in this evening and saw the latest, which was poop at toilet dot com. I thought it was funny enough to post and say thanks for the laugh. I'd have e-mailed you, but...
