I'm happy to give this a shot, thanks to StigsTibecuadorianco(usin) for inviting me to the site and keeping me posed on chalenges. I only picked up GT4 at the end of last year and 60% through, but will focus on improving times

I've just been playing this on GT5 using the 370z.

For us GT4 users it's funny how it's the 300ZX vs 350Z. I do remember watching top gear and clearly showing the 300ZX beating the 350Z in a straight line, but I do doubt it corners as well in the bends.

I will be running a 300ZX 2 Seater just to let everyone know. I'm very much a budget tuner so I always take up the challenge with older models such as this. I do admit that this chassis isn't as great as the 350Z, but I'm certain I can get enough out of the 300ZX to produce an alright time.

At Laguna Seca clocked a time of 1'20.800.
My Suzuka time is a 1'58.xxx but can be improved.

This was done in my '98 300ZX. Been constantly trying to improve the rear end feel and it's currently wielding good results.

-Unless I could make all corners perfect, and believe me Ill keep trying till end of challange, These are the best times that I could put together....

Laguna- 1:20.544
Fuji GT 2000- 1:31.326
Suzuka- 1:55.855

Total Time- 4:47.725

My settups didnt vary to much between tracks. However a rigid frame added helped at Laguna as long as I stayed off the curbs, not at Suzuka or Fuji.

Hmm Fieldstar I'm certain you could still get those times at Laguna Seca lowered a bit since your running a 350Z. I've used the same setup for all my tracks and probably will if my gearbox suits Fuji , which with my cars top speed of 320kph should.

On a side note, I think increasing the rigidity of the chassis in the game is really a waste of money in GT4. Like comon 50g's just to keep the chassis secure and refreshed. You could in real life go to an actual garage (Spoon does it but their in Japan) and get them to do it cheaper than that. Then again this is a game and it's okay to just spend away. Really I'm such a cheapskate that would love better value for parts in the game, like for instance why is it $1500 to tune a ECU when doing it in a Golf in real life is like $150-$500 est.

Hey Brette. Two great things about GT. If ya got the money, might as well spend it. And it wont cost me but time crashing into a fence. I dont think the game tries to reflect cost as they may stand at local and specialty shops.

As to Laguna, There may be time to grab depending on how I attack the corners but that will take time to find. There is time to find at the other tracks but agian, its hitting the corners for best off speed. At 486 Hp I still feel pretty good with what I have.

I'd just like to ask something. For the cars it says 300ZX. Does that mean we can only run a Z32 300ZX and not a Z31 300ZX?

For the 350Z though I thought you could Turbo that motor in this game. So really Fieldstar you only have that much power to play with? Man my car is like running 596hp but is still heavy for a race tune like 1200-1300kg's. Bit like David vs Goliath.

I was under the assumption we could only use the Z33 2003 model let alone I didnt know the other models were available. (you see how observant I could be lol) The only other option I saw was the GT Special Edition but then DjWess would have used that as the base tune example. Either way the two are almost identical in handling. I think the Special Edition is stifferin handling but that may just be me.

What I did find unusual was that DjWess had a 2009 tune entry for the Z33 with a HP of 600. Knowing how the GT site works, that would not be a typo. I would like to know where he got that car from. I think times would drop considerably. - What you say DjWess?

I'd put in new oil before driving and after buying the car.
However the next car duel is between the Dodge Charger (any year) against the Chevrolet Camaro (any year). My last challenge before going off in 3 weeks. Will post it up tomorrow.

LoL- Yes I know the oil trick. Thats definitely not enough to get 600 HP out of a 300Z-(Z33)

Update:
I've fiddled around a bit more with my Z32. But for some reason it didn't feel as nice as it did before. Probably could be just me Stick Out Tongue

Laguna Seca: 1'20.451
Suzuka: 1'56.460

Suzuka is still a track I'm having a bit of trouble with. Hard to find the perfect line there for me.
