Thanks for your entry plus my time on the M5 so far is a 1'24:598

I wish you the best of luck. And the fact that this challenge came from the top of my head while racing in Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights

Hey DJWess, you disapeared for a while there...
Count me in, I have some time this month, so I'll give it a shot.
I have a few questions:
1. What is with the different end dates? I know the 4th of July is a public holiday in America, but why 12th of July for the rest of the world?
2. Just confirming - any road RX-7 or road RX-8? (and why the RX's for the challenge?)
3. You've used a RX-7 Type RZ to host the challenge - does that mean you'll use it for the in it?
4. With the M5 challenge - were you holding onto your time or did you only recentley start.
I really think that this challenge may advatage me, by the way, is it El Capitan normal or in reverse?
See you around,

Long time no see stigs my dude. here are your answers:
1.) since the 4th of July is a holiday everyone in USA should be off, but thinking about it you're right. Everone the new ending date for everyone is July 12th.

2.) Yes any RX-7 or RX-8 as so long that it's not the racing editions or the Lemans editions

3.) no, i'll not use that RX-7, however my RX-7 has 414 ft-lbs of torque @ 528 BHP. RX-7 Type R year 1999 or higher. Iforgot the whole name. my words of advice, buy every performance part and mess with it on the Test course and drag Strip

4.) just started and had a time of somewhere in the 1'24's and 1'23's

5.) El Caption Normal. Good to be back though.

I was not going to ask but being that questions are posted.. I have a couple of questions just to properly define this for myself and maybe a few others...

So far I have bought two new cars and I have to go win two others I would like to test..
( Though I am not too sure if there will be any difference.. but what the hell, we haven't even started yet ..)

On both of my cars I have modded them to all allowable extent.. However on both cars you must take something away from them in order to meet the HP requirement. This is in the instance in which you want to be under the requirement or at it AFTER you have an oil change...

When I am in my garage I have a HP number which shows just below the requirement..Yet when it shows the replay in the game for example, it shows the lowest posted HP, when I go look at the car on the rotation platform in my garage it shows another number, which is slightly higher.. and when like I mentioned before I simply look at the listing of cars in my garage it shows the highest number which also shows on the Dyno Diagram on my tune page..which I have used as my target...

What number are we to use for our target HP number? I ran into this with both models and on all versions..

One more question..
I noticed that these competitions run for about a month to a month and a half..any particular reason for such a long time?

MakusXO, I think I can answer your question on the length of the challenge.
Essentially, its just that people need more time. WIth the financial crisis people need to work more hours, or do more work in general to keep their jobs, so they have less time on their hands. Therefore, they don't have as much time to play GT, so they need more time to do a tune.
Also, people like me just never really get going, but when I do I play for a whole day, and that day only comes around once a month or so. FInally it also allows more tuners, more tunning time and better competition. If the challenges were only for a week, I wouldn't have been able to do any.
In relation to the Hp question, I thought the correct number was before the "sell" screen when your car is rotating, but again this is up to the challenge creator and moderator to decide, so DjWess, which reference do we use.
Thanks for clearing up my Q's, and in relation to being off for a while, I have been online keeping an eye on things, but no time to tune or test, school is pretty heavy right before exams, 4 more days!!! Hopefully I can give this a red-hot go, and maybe take a podium! Dreams, we all have them...

I graduate today. And I picked 530 BHP on purpose to see if anyone could tune a car that's not at it fullest

To answers some of your Q's, The Horsepower limit is after the oil change. Its really up to the tuner if they want to do that.
Go off the horsepower the garage shows to lessen the confusion
You can tune out both the RX-7 & RX-8 if you so desire.
Stigs pretty much answered your last question.
I hope this cleared somethings up

Thank You both for answering my questions I do appreciate it. As far as the time thing is concerned. I remember working two jobs and putting in 90+ hours a week. You would have never seen me here.

Congratulations on your Graduation! It will be the first of several more I hope..

Again thanks for clearing it up...I would hate to be using this number and it be wrong and have someone out there making it easy on themselves...LOL

Ran a few preliminaries...Think I have made a decision on the car...Should be ready to post a starting time on June 1.. I am actually glad you didn't choose Laguna Seca.. that would have been a little bit harder..

EDIT:

I hate to ask this again, after I realized it later.. You said use the garage, Would that be when viewing the listing; as the same number shown on the Dyno Chart, or would that be when viewing the car in the garage?
Sorry to ask again.. but I mean I can add more horsepower depending on which one...on both cars..Plus I don't really want to get disqualified when it comes to submitting my parts, mileage and tune..

Interesting move Brette, may I enquire as to why you have chosen these older models?
And to MakusXO:
Good pick up as to the specificity of which garage screen, I didn't realise the problem that the answer poses. Also, in relation to the M5 challenge:
Thanks for the tip as to how you tune your gears, to reiterate I only use auto set numbers, and it is nice to see there are people willing to share the secrets, or possibley state the obvious in regards to tuning individual aspects of the car. Don't worry about the challenge, I read it 5 mins ago, and it is 11:35 now, I guess it will take 25 minutes to get the data right...
Finally, I wouldn't be suprised to hear/read that people are keeping their cards close to their chests, infact I'm surprised we have had this much activity prior to the last few days of the challenge. Oh and no, you won't settle or second, although I advise you do...

Well Stigs.. I actually ran into a dilemma.. Someone got nailed by only .03-something seconds.. Problem was me being too honest.. and the very first turn to the left..I was airborne and using the Photo shoot option on the replay revealed the right angle which disqualified the lap run..I had at one point two passenger side wheels on the red and white.. and this happened so quickly watching it in the replay normally you would have never known) Watching it from the right angle it looked okay, but when you stop the video and rotate the angle watching to the to and from point its was clear as day.. it winds up with me having ONE right rear tire on the red and white curb. So clearly ' Two wheels on the pavement ' was not going to work there..Then the car just started dropping HP so was like w/e.. I take second place with the .866 and leave it at that. OH and here . we still have all day, well 8-9 hours of it anyway..

Some reason i feel I am not going to win this one either... might place but I don't feel a Cup coming on...who knows.. I think my feelings are what through the tangent in there anyway.. we'll see..

On the garage thing.. I think what DjWess probably means is the same number on the Dyno Chart which shows your HP and Torque.. That number is the same as the one shown in the listing. I notice these things.. One because all I play is GT4.. Number two I am gong to find every advantage I can.. LOL .. but so will everyone else... Most importantly if you are going to ply by the rules its good to make sure everyone else will be to, or else their competition is pointless, and so is the effort..

I am taking a VOW this challenge.. I already have crewed up and posted.. but I had to.. This round I am going to STFU...I think I may post up my times at the beginning middle and end. Which was another reason I asked about the time we take to do these things...We all get bored, some hyper and start bull@#$%tin'...Like a bunch ol' wind bags..LOL..bluuuhh, bluh..bluuh..BLUUH..bluh..bluuhhr...'Bac in da day BOY we didn't that @#$% we had to get in there and there and @#$%^& fight for it..'

Anyways wish everyone luck.. and I will be lurking to see the progress and the answer.. after DjWess gets over the Graduation..LOL

I back on planet Earth now.

Yes use the Horsepower and Torque from the Dyno Charts of the Horsepower Number you see besides the car in the garage before veiwing the actual car.

People Like he said, please play by the rules. Cheating to win is only Cheating to FAIL later on down the road
