This setup will bring you 200 A-spec points at the El Capitan 200 miles with some decent driving. You need the field that consists of the: Shelby series one, TVR 350C, Chev. Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper and the SL 65 AMG. Your only competition is the Shelby, which pits 4 times instead of the 5 this will do. (Designed to match the motorsport Elise but this line up came around and was too good to miss.) If you switch to S2 tires on the rear for the last stint you will beat the entire field by at least a lap. Just do some practise laps and make the most of a cold tires situation, the AI are rubbish with no grip.
Any adjustments and feedback are welcome.

EDIT:
Incorrect horsepower figure
EDIT:
Changed ballast weight to 0 and camber +0.2/ +0.1
EDIT:
Re-tuned the setup with S1 front tires, fantastic re-do, see post 12.

nice Setup Thumbs Up

about the Race:- The best car I have found for it is the Suzuki GSX-r-4

I have run 22 laps before Tires needed changing Unibrow

I chose the Elise because only 3 other people in GT Vault have actually tuned it. If you try to tune a popular car, (and for a first proper attempt) you aren't likely to stand out. You may have got 22 laps out of the tires, I'd only get about 16-18. (Super aggressive input to DS2 controller)
Besides, I need the Suzuki to do about a hundred other races for 200 points. It is a lot like the playstation C60 'peski' in regards to events where you can pull 200 points.
Have you beaten Mission 34? Your setups would suggest you are a 'ring specialist.
Thanks for the comment.

What do you think is wrong with the shocks?
In which direction would you tweak them to counter whatever the problem is.
This is a DS2 controller setup, but if it works on a wheel please tell me.

MR or FR

If its an MR car then keep the shocks equal to both the front and rear as well as maxing out downforce as much as possibe. turn off ASM and have TCS no more than 5. or try a negative toe in the front if the car was to understeer ( or was it oversteer?). and you could ( if possible) tune out the ballast balance without messing with the ballast weight. For more info cheak out the tuning guide or the knowledge base for moe inforamtion. Hey i might try these settings myselfs. Note if you mess with the TCS you may have to play around with the ride's height and its spring rates as well.
Have fun while you race others. If you don't why are you racing in the first place?

Thanks for the vote DJ.
It is MR, and all the tuning you just mentioned makes sense if you know how to drive, but my driving style represents a noob and quite frankly sucks, but is pretty quick. I used the tuning guide, I suffered from oversteer while a threw the car around the corners, and I avoided downforce because at that stage I may as well have bought the Motorsport elise rather than tuning this.
I need the ballast to try and stop the oversteer over that hill on El capitan, when the car gets light I needed that bit of ballast to help, The ballance was fine without the ballast except that one spot.

Now i know why the settings looked a bit odd. I forgot it was a MR loL.
Its really doesnt oversteer it just drifts out to the side, just be careful with the throttle or brake and countersteer well. I also found that the ballest weight only made the car handle worse when using it. When i took it all off i managed to get faster by more than 2 secs even more if i was even driving full on. But if you still think you need the extra weight and want it to be more stable add +1 toe on front and rear, it seemed to fix the problem of drifting without having to drive carefully. Very nice. I dont agree with you DjWess TCS ruins the whole thing and makes it soooo slow in the corners(like it always does cause TCS is for granny drivers who always crash on the road and can't slow down haha) and the car never understeers why would you need -toe?

Oh yeah love the no downforce thing and engine sound, oooh it sounds so good too. I think no downforce makes it go faster on the straights because the air isnt pushing on anything to keep it on the ground but GT4 don't tell you this though thats why Le Mans cars don't usually have large wings like the Motorsport Elise. Its to gain as much speed as possible on the straight while having enough downforce for the rest of the track. Enough of that i like this heaps im putting it on Favourites. Oh and by the way you do know theres a elise that is basically the same horsepower when bought brand new just add some upgrades then its the same HP as this tuned elise

YAY! COMPREHENSIVE FEEDBACK.
Thanks for the vote!
O.k, it drifts and isn't oversteer, thanks.
No Ballast, fair enough, I just sucked over that hill.
Add toe to front and rear for stability- (why I didn't tweak I don't know)
I'll try these adaptations and update the setup if needs be.
LeMans cars have next to no wing BUT make their downforce across the entire car for no drag, I love diffusers Big Grin .
Yes I know about the rest of the Elise range, but as I stated above I am 1 of 4 people to tune this car. You could argue the car is either unpopular, or unique.
Thanks for your help!

I was meant to say LeMans cars have Low wings and that High wings make it slower on the straights and i couldnt be bothered to buy the faster 1 i just got the Type 70 instead plus it looks nicer too. I think hardly anyone tuned this version of the elise because this is one of the slowest version of this model that why not many people tuned it loL sorry they instead got the faster one like i said before. I love the car and if anyone hates it Stuff them.

Going over that hill, just slow down enough as the computer will never be able to catch up to you even if you not going all out over that section. CPU sucks at that part of the course but i dont know why... so because its a endurance driving slower helps alot.
And ive done some improvement to the RX7 but still need much more because i drive all out and the tires just get eaten up. Got the car to last for ages with good handling with green to yellow tires for 22-23 laps on tskuba. Once i can do that track then im going to try El Capitan and beat your elise haha. Evil

I drive like you, every lap is a qualifying lap, a new chance to put down a new fastest lap.
I just can't bring myself to slow down that much, the AI are very slow through there and I know I can go flat when I get it right, I was able to do it with teh stock car when I got my baseline.
I actually considered using the type 72, but I cound't find it in my garage so I ran with this one.
Can't wait to see your Tsukuba setup, I still need to beat it A-spec.
The RX7 is good, but it won't beat the Elise around El Capitan, I'm not the best tuner and it did very well. If someone went over the Elise with a fine tooth comb they could find another 1.5 secs.

And you don't have to agree with me, Even though your toughts help i rarly use TCS on cars under 500BHP and if i was to use TCS I keep it between 0-4 dont use any ASM

I decided to redo this setup to see if I could find more speed out of this car and make it more driveable than it was in the original tune, and I think I succeeded in that with this tune. After taking some advice from other tuners, I made some part changes.
The new setup:........230 HP.....291 Nm of torque
Exhaust - Standard
Computer Chip - Equip
NA tune - Stage 3
Tires - S1/S1
Nitrous - none
Turbo - none
Intercooler - N/A
Supercharger - N/A
Brakes - Racing
Brake Balence - none

Suspension - Racing
....................Front/Back
Springs Rate___ - 6.6/7.4
Ride Height____ - 100/100
Damper Bound__ - 6/5
Damper Re-Bound - 6/5
Camber_______ - 2.0/1.0
Toe___________ - 0/0
Stabiliser________ 3/3

Transmition - Fully customsable
AUTO SET - 8 OR 9 depending on how
Clutch - Triple Plate
Flywheel - standard
Driveshaft - N/A
Downforce - none
LSD - Standard
Driving Aids 0/0/2 (2 TCS, no ASM)
Weight Reduction stage 1
Port Polish
Engine Balencing
(I think you can also use a stage 3 turbo with 258 hp and 311 Nm of torque)
This new setup lead me to victory in 2:10'XX.XXX, a full 1'36 in front of the motorsport Elise, while I beat the rest of the field by over a lap. Best Lap 1'51.770
Lap......Fuel......Tires
Lap 13 NO FUEL S1/S1
Lap 26 NO FUEL S1/S1
Lap 39 Fill to 22 S1/S1
Lap 52 Fill to 23 S1/S1
Lap 66 FINISH

In Summary, the car is faster, easier on its tires, more driveable, and far better than the original. Another successful redux of an earlier tune.
