I only used Turbo stage 3. And I get 714bhp from that. more than enough to be competitive.

Wow, a GTR that does not understeer, what a refreshing thought.
This is a beast !

This is SOOOOOO FAST!!!
The first serious car I got was the Skyline, and I tried to play with it but this thing makes my efforts look terrible. Lukily I don't represent the talent pool of Australia.
How would you recomend I LEARN to tune properly as, by the looks of your history you just may be some sort of expert.
Trying to raise A-Spec,

LOL Stigs, that some name you have.

Yes, I have had a lot of hands on experience. Try the tuning guide on this site.
Look under the Navigation window on the columns to the left <---

Taht should give you a good start to a tuning lesson.

Yeah, the name was meant to be a parody of one of the Top Gear stig's cousins, and I used the name of a fictional country of 'Tibecuador', invented in a child's cartoon I was watching. Unfortunantly there wasn't enough space to say Stig's Tibecuadorian cousin. Should have put Tibecuadorian Stig. The tuning guide (which I know you wrote and I used it to tune) is a good general guide, but I can't get cars the way I want them with my all or nothing input on my DS2 controller. The closest I got was the Elise (#7537), my NSX (#7541) was close but I couldn't put a consistant time down. My problems are shown with my Esprit setup (#7545), full of radical comprimises that didn't get me any closer to my desired setup than the original values. My bet is you'd take one look, 5 seconds later laugh, then wonder what the hell I was thinking, explain the ideas with some sort of inhibitant, then go through and look at how you would do it. What am I doing wrong? (besides my driving)
Your help desperately needed,
StigsTC

Thanks again Fumes,
It's guys like you who keep GT Vault ticking, and I am grateful.
Have you always had a gift for tuning, or was it a slow learning process?
I really hope tuning is not restricted to a natural talent, or I have many troubles.
Thanks for your time (again)

phew! There is still hope left for the less talented!
The only question left is how slow?
I never bothered with the tuning as I got to grips with GT in GT3, but does the ability and knowledge of tuning transfer between games? So is my time working on GT4 going to help me on GT5 (whenever it gets released)?
Anyway thank you again for your help (and many great setups),

Great setup, Actually used it in family cup Sarthe 2 and won. Speed on 10. Could you plz test out my settings and report anything I need to fix up on?
Have fun while you race others. If you don't why are you racing in the first place?

Yes that knowledge will be transferable in theory.
But this is a game. The physics and implmentation of it is only as good as the code being used in the program.

Thanks JohnnyFJ.

Waterboy87's setup uses TCS = 8. Lots more traction control, therefore saves on tyres. But the compromise is speed. However on a street circuit like Hong Kong increasing TCS is the right thing to do. MY setup with TCS at 4 should be sufficient and will still be fast.

thanks for the feedback.

I haven't fired up GT4 in a long time. But from memory, it's sold in the Tuned car shops (in GT Auto?), in Amuse of course. Wink
