hey gdubb, i tried your setup and i decided to post one of my own instead. however, i can't get this car to quit "understeering" for shit!!!

with your setup, your car is just one-one/hundreth of a second off of the stock settings 1/4 mile time, so that needs to be fixed. instead of using the stage one, just use the car without it cause its already plenty fast, and in some cars high bhp causes trouble.

also, you could try setting your asm to either a 2 or a 3 to help alleviate some of the oversteer (unless you like it that way).

with my speed twelve i raised the ride height to maximum so that the car can achieve a very quick 1/4 mile time. for me it's all about 1/4 mile time cause the better it is, the faster you are on the twisty tracks. also, when you're setting gear ratios for any car you should set the final to maximum first (slide it all the way to the right), move the auto set from its current position all the way to minimum (the left), and then move the final back to the minimum. this way, you're gears will be set for max accel and top end at the same time, and coupled with a max ride height, you should get some nice 1/4 mile times.

one thing i like about your setup is that you use med.tires. it's best to use med.tires for all of your cars cause supersofts will make you lazy. :) i also like how i could slide around most corners which is good for a car with tremendous understeer.

i still don't understand how a 907kg car could be so hard to turn?!

finally, when i'm tuning cars, i always use laguna seca as the "test" course because it has corners that will prepare you for any other track in the game. one way to find out how good your car is at turning is to blaze and go around the left hander before the hill before the corkscrew. if you can come around there (without brakes and with two or more wheels on the track) without sliding into the right-hand wall or just going to the right side period, then your car handles great. plus, the andretti hairpin and the hill just before the corkscrew are great places to test your brakes.

i'll update as soon as i fiddle with yours more.

i feel your pain... i know this car has huge potential but i cant get it to turn for shit. it doesnt drift to shabby though. thats why i had so much power oversteer on my setup. never done the 1/4 mile test... all my testing/tuning is done at laguna seca. good luck

I like the improvements your settings made to this car, your feel for driving is not unlike my own, but why not open up those gears? I just realized as I am writing this, that you specified every ratio, I just set the final and the automatic and I didn't see if they matched up. Assuming they do, I was topping out at 125, so I just opened it up to the auto setting 35 and got it to about 200, but it still handled great.
