This car handles well to start with. Try this car without LSD. If it's too drift happy for your driving style add LSD 9/40/15.

I'll see what I can do. Tuning FR cars for rally will be a totally different new mindset.
A challenge for sure. Keep your eyes peeled for an RX-7 rally setup....

Nah, I tried it and I'm not happy with the performance of an FR car in rally. It fish tails all over, and anything over 300hp is a beast to control.

Great tunes man, I like them all! I am new at tuning and am working on my own RX-7 Type RS, and I have used your comments to help so thanks for that, but I was just wondering if you could help me out alittle, if you don't mind, my RX-7 handles good but it has a slight problem with some the tail sliding after cormers, any suggestions on how I could fix this?

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Fumes, I am still working out my setup, but I was just wondering what part of tuning would help keep the tail from slinding out around corners? Any help is most appreciated, thanks.

Well, in general, to avoid the rear of an FR car sliding out on acceleration keep the suspension softer, eg spring rate, and stabilizers. Also keep rear camber low, nothing over 2.0. Remove ASM altogether.

man you are the best. never had an RX-7 handle so well. Thank you. lets hope you'll be here when GT4 comes out. God knows i'll need all the help i can get. Just wondering though, what tires do you normaly put on all your cars. and what tires do you put on your cars when tire wear is a factor, like 10 laps races or endurance??

When tire wear isn't a factor, then the softest slicks.

For a 5 lap tire wear race - mediums.
For a 10 lap tire wear race - Hard

GT4?
Posted 03/01/2005 7:04 AM Post a reply Quote this post View psychot|K's info
Fumes: Just want to say I'm LOVING your setups. I just bought GT4 and used this setup on my 370HP 1998 RX-7 type r-s. I'm getting HUGE understeer and the back won't kick out no matter what I do. I tried with and without the LSD and still nothing. I also have the traction control at 0 and no ASM. Are the settings for GT4 COMPLETELY different than those of GT3? If so that sucks cause that means I can't use any of your wicked setups... Can you help? Or can anyone else help?

this is it! this is the setup that made me such a huge fan of fumes!
for some reason i get more consistent times with the RS than the RZ... I love how this car behaves and how predictable it actually is. I run it with a stage 2 as it feel just right with around 530 hp.
