HACKERS WILL BE FOUND
Posted 04/08/2013 1:45 PM Post a reply Quote this post View Draghon's info
Tuner Challenges are now going to be harder, and new rules should be placed in effect... it has come to my attention that people have figured out how to hack the game save... (I admit, I have a 1000HP SVT Mustang, I have like 20 SVTs but only 1 hacked and I would NEVER use it against anyone, but lets face it, a 1000HP SVT IS realistic). PSN has announced that they know of the hacks and will find who is hacking and ban the accounts from going online (Might be why I haven't seen some people online in 3 months). I don't know their method(s) of finding out but I am doubting that they know by the data entered, I think it might be by people reporting...

Stay Safe People...

BTW, Now I know how these guys are running under 3 minutes on Sarthe with the LMP cars...

Draghon I need your help on this one then
Have fun while you race others. If you don't why are you racing in the first place?

well I don't know really, short of just setting up a date from now on and everyone runs in that room, then you can set the PP or the Horsies you know that the cars should run...

The only way I see it being fair is if someone records the actual setup with the lap instead of just posting the setup then showing the lap separately... but not a lot of people can record like that... I have the capabilities but no Driver that will let me play it through my computer...

I have Fraps, but the card I have only has Coax in, nothing out, and if I were to go the slitter route then my gameplay would be in icky non HD Smile Anyone wanna donate an old video card that has this capability?

I'm surprised it took this long to hack the saves. People have been doing it with Forza 4 for what seems like forever, and every prior GT game was hacked in a shorter time IIRC. PD must have spent considerable resources to make GT5 saves hack resistant. In the end, all efforts in that regard are futile.

yeah, I even went to Amazon, seems someone picked up the "Game Genie" name and produced one for the PS3... well maybe it's the system, They said it was unhackable when it came out... it was just a matter of time...

Indeed, nothing is unhackable. There only exist degrees of hack-resistance.

Hacking

What's this about 'hack the game save' stuff? Sounds like this problem is being blown out of proportion and I doubt people would go to such lengths to win.

Our challenges consist of the GTVault community only and participant numbers are rather small so it doesn't really matter. It ain't a global leaderboard like it is online. Here it's all about trusting one another.

Brette has a point that it's a small community and the people participating are almost always known to one another. I suppose the "don't fix what isn't broken" approach could be taken. If someone new comes along and they're always winning challenges, that would definitely be cause to firm up verification procedures.
