GTVault officially supports Gran Turismo 5
Posted 10/10/2011 10:58 PM Post a reply Quote this post View Kerr's info
Gran Turismo 5 support is up and running here at GTVault! Feel free to begin posting your setups at any time.

Please note that the mechanics of posting a setup have changed dramatically. The new setup form and detail view closely follow the tuning screens in GT5. This change takes up more space on-screen, which will require some scrolling to get all the information required. To mitigate this issue, I've added a button named "Collapse View" that, when clicked, collapses the view with major sections tabbed at the left.

Clicking the button again expands the view to its original state. I tried for some time to shoehorn the new GT5 specific items into the current views, though I never achieved satisfactory results. I know this is a major change, so let me know your thoughts. One more note: These changes only apply to Gran Turismo 5, with GT3 and GT4 screens remaining as they were.

With everyone excited about the release of Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0, I timed the GTVault Gran Turismo 5 rollout to coincide with the game's release. This means some non-essential features are not yet implemented. Items like Race Events, detailed car information and setup validation will be released in future site updates.

With that said, the most important piece of GTVault, the ability to post and review setups, is fully functional. I appreciate everyone's patience as I refine the site in coming months. Please reply here with any feedback you may have.

Enjoy!

I had Window Weight Reduction on my dev server, must be a matter of unhiding it here, so I'll look at that later.

Ride Height doesn't do what? I've tested is subsequently, and it looks fine to me.

I'll also look at placing the Collapse/ Expand button inside the top corner of the form so it's physically separated from the Submit & Cancel buttons.

I thought that was a positive number. What car allowed negative?

Go to your My Setups link, then click Edit.

Try now.

Also, reason the Edit link isn't on the setup itself is I cache the output of that entire page to save on processing time. Only you can edit your own setups, so I would have to conditionally not cache that portion of the page to detect whether to show the Edit icon. I tried partial caching in the past but it didn't work well. I also tried just showing the Edit link for all users, but they were ultimately confused when they always saw it, even on setups they did not own.

My Grandmother passed away today around 7am, I inherited her Flat Panel TV, After I hook it up I'm going online and creating a room to race in her honor, look for me online, or look for a room saying "memorial."

no one came...

I'll set it up again for Friday at 6pm pst

Hey Kerr.
The transmission is in MPH could you somehow also put KPH in it. (a nice thing to have)

Otherwise great job.

Are you talking about the Top Speed form field in the Transmission section?

Ok, I don't refer to mph or kph directly there, so are you talking about the upper limit, which is now 350? In terms of kph that is probably too low and needs to be raised.

Yeah, I'm thinking of what type of forum to make it, I'm thinking old muscle but then not many might come for that, I was thinking Super-Daytona but people might get bored so it might be vote, I was thinking of a 90< >100 lap race for my Gmas age. I know I WANT Super-Daytona and 90-100 laps for the race we have a lot of people, and as the tribute to her, but I want to know what everyone thinks I should have the settings set at for other races...
