Adjustable LSD vs. AYC Controller on Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution models
Posted 07/03/2011 9:47 PM Post a reply Quote this post View Kerr's info
I came across something weird while testing equipment options for he Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR GSR '04. In the Tuning Shop, I can purchase the Adjustable LSD in the Drivetrain section. However, when I start a race and pull up the Drivetrain section in Settings, Adjustable LSD is nowhere to be found. I also found this to be true on the Evolution VII GSR '01.

The Mitsubishi Evos are the only cars in GT that have the AYC Controller, and it comes standard. Does having the AYC Controller negate the ability to use the Adjustable LSD? If so, I don't understand why one could purchase an Adjustable LSD for an AYC equipped vehicle.

A number of players have noticed this problem, recently, so I reported it today.
Cheers,

I did notice that as well. But I have been driving my TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM car online a lot
Have fun while you race others. If you don't why are you racing in the first place?

Ok, glad to know I'm not crazy (at least on this note). Thanks for making the report and letting me know, MasterGT!

I'd noticed that AYC was gone (it is isn't it? If not where is it?), but not linked it to LSD.

In my case, AYC is there but LSD is gone. Again, this is only on the Evos. LSD adjustments are available on cars that do not have AYC.

my question is, is it possible to have both in real life? I know there's a lot of contradictions in this game, I'd like to install 2 or 3 turbos and such which in real life you can, I'd like to make the GT Mustang produce 1000+ HP which is possible with the right money...

I believe this is true of GT4 as well.. as long as I can remember if you turn one on the other goes off.. or it wasn't available.. as well as it not being available for all EVO's..

I had a thought session about it myself.. and thought really mechanically how this would work if they are different in how they work especially between different cars .. but WIKI was the best..

AYC = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_Yaw_Control explains it better... anyway.. Maybe any cars that allow it to be both is the real fluke..

Was watching Top Gear, they showcased the new EVO (funny, the called it the E.V.O.) the exact description of both is that one is mechanical and the other is electronic, that is the only difference, so maybe they can't exist together and that GT4 was wrong.

If they can't exist together in the real world, then GT5 is true to life, at least on the settings screen. I still shouldn't be able to purchase a piece of equipment that cannot be used. I'd have to go back to GT4 to see if the two can coexist in that game.

also has anyone noticed that adding a roll cage doesn't increase the weight?
