New Feature: Vote Lists
Posted 09/10/2006 6:26 PM Post a reply Quote this post View Kerr's info
From time to time I have received questions from tuners about who is voting for their setups. The data required to present this information has always been there, and I've finally managed to capitalize on some free time to code the enhancements. I've implemented three ways of viewing detailed, sortable vote data:
  • Votes cast for an individual setup
  • Votes cast by an individual user
  • Votes cast for an individual user
The first view is accessible directly from each setup. Assuming a setup has at least one vote, you can click on the quantity to display each voter's name and the date their vote was cast. The second and third views are accessible from any tuner's information screen, and display Game, Setup, Voter/Tuner, Make, Car, and Vote Date. As with all GTVault pages, all relevant information is cross linked with it's corresponding area in the site.

Could be an realy usefull feature for selecting tuners. I mean if they like your setup there are bound to some similarities in driving style etc.

Keep up the good work . Greetz Zeratul.

Kerr, Thanks for a much needed additon. It makes it so much easier to figure out which of your cars just got the new vote,....... I was keeping track on a post-it note and looking for the difference. Great site development, Brian

GT HD

GT2000 - Yes, I had planned on starting a new thread once all I've read about GT HD soaks in and my mood becomes better. I take it you've read about the micropayment scheme. There is quite a bit of debate as to the particulars, but the whole scheme in general is a crap idea in my opinion. I'll be making a post on the home page soon.

@Kerr: Yea I've read about that and was speaking to a mate of mine about it a few weeks ago. Personaly I hope it flops and hits Sony and PD in the wallet. What about the people that are online but not on Broadband because they dont have no access to it. All seems like a dumb idea to me. Going to wait for GT5 in 2008 i think... well make that 2010 after the delays :P

Kerr I'm hoping that GT5 will have an online setup sharing feature. and it probally will. But thats a great thing for this site. Sure we'll be able to trade car setups but where will we be able to talk about them? Right here. Online GT is going to be a wonderful for the gtvault community. I can't wait. I'm sorry I haven't been around here lately but my 360 has kinda overshadowed my PS2. Frown But when GT5 comes out you can garauntee I'll be on here all the time. Well its good to stop by and say hey. Later everyone.

therat - Good to see you. I don't know if you've read about GT HD yet, but Sony is setting up a system where you have to pay $$ for cars and tracks. It's convoluted and details are sketchy, but rest assured that gamers will be parting with hundreds of dollars should they want to get most cars. I've been planning on making a post about it on the home page but have been too busy to really dig into it and write one of my monologues Big Grin
