DB9 Challenge Race Tune of Brette's
2nd Overall

This was my first setup of the car which overall became the fastest i could do, though i must say, my second version for this car was a much smoother, easier car to manage than this one. As you can see it says only 671hp as that was how much i had when i completed my lap time. Fully this car will have 680hp. If you take the TCS off, the best i could ever manage was a 1'29.2xx so its best to leave it on if you plan on testing this to full capabilities.

This car has over 600 HP...how did you get away with no LSD and, such low camber values Question?

Ummm I don't know Speedfreak since i couldn't be bothered to setup the camber or lsd anyways. I guess the TCS helped but really i think its just the transmission.

I'll agree with that.
I've found the LSD makes stuff worse for me, but the gear setup on this car is brilliant. How you didn't change the camber is the only thing thats got me confused, and with such a time!!

loL. How much camber did you use then? Jalevesque used as much camber as I did you know.

You'll find out when I post the settings. (I can't remember, LOL) That'll be in about a day - 1.5 days... Can't use the PS during the week. I have to admit, the front camber was either too much or not enough, and the rear was excessive... not as much clean power to the road. I just fell that most of the time 2.0 front doesn't give the best turn in, and once thats fixed 1.0 rear doesn't hold it... but my tune is quite poor. I'd like to re-do it and see what happened. The gears, and suspension were not right, I think I had the car too stiff or too low, and I need to start tuning individual gears, but I rarely know what I am actually trying to do with them.
We'll see with the Carlton, I've found Twin Ring Motegi RC rewards aggressive driving, much more than infineon, however the setup at TRMRC is quite hard to find, and gears make a heck of a lot of difference, oh well...

I also have been meaning to tell you for a while, you need to update the html link in your banner so that it actually works as a hyperlink. It still links back to your honda Beat Sports Kei car challenge!
See MarkusXO's post in th enew challenge as to where to fix it.

Jalevesque may have used the same amount of camber of the front, but its the rear and TCS that tell me something. I think it means that the car was a little more inclined to slide, and that meant 2.0 was enough. Or simply I've been tuning cars wrong for the last year. Either way I'm still slower and am a long way off.

Hey stigs, its a good idea to start learning how to individually setup up gears. I know i can do it a bit but i think MarkusXO knows more about how to do it finely. Once you start to setup gears more better you'll find that you can get a much faster time.

He's actually got a really good way to match gears to power/torque through the revs, however thats only the starting point, and is already way too much work. I never play with sound, and the taccometer isn't the main thing to look at while I drive, so there are usually a few small issues to get rid of, but I've never had a crippling issue with gears. I guess we are talking a few hundredths each time, meaning 1-5 tenths in a lap, which is what I'm down on you by a lot of the time.
(I just hate the sound of squeeling tires in GT4, its so very arcade from GT1.)

Firstly, thanks for the vote stigs I appreciate it.
About the TCS you mentioned earlier... I only added that in simply to get the fastest time i could get, 'cause before when I had none the fastest I could get without spinning the wheels much was a 1'29.2xx.

Now I'll tell you how I tune my gears. I really can't be stuffed doing all the matching power/torque stuff with see through paper the way MarkusXO does it. I know it would probably be better but I really don't see the point having to go through all that hustle just to tune the gears. The way I tune my gears on GT4 is really simple. Simply adjust the Auto Gear so that it feels that it matches the power of the engine as it revs and slide the final ratio to suit what you want for the track. Of course some gears may not be matching the rev counter well enough so you might need to change those gears until they accelerate better.

If GT4 had a better Gear Ratio tuning system that allows the sliders to move much more better like on forza, then it would be better to tune each gear individually. But as GT4 doesn't allow this much accessibility, I feel that I'm better off simply using the Auto Gears instead.

Hmmm, interesting.
Using the Auto set to get the engine, and the final to get the track.
I'm still working on using just tranny trick, because I don't think it works on some cars, or Auto set then refined by using the final ratio. But I had no idea my second option is how you do it. There is also the MarkusXO style tranny trick, (not the Fumes one) which all seem to get the job done. It would seem I am spoilled for choice!
