Updated with my tune for the 1'45.504 lap run for challenge.
The February 2010 edition of the tuner challenge with a fully modded Lotus Carlton to Twin Ring Motegi Road Course.
The car is to have all upgrade modification can be applied to it, But Nitrous is not to be used. Including Port Polish, Engine balancing, GT Wing, Oil Change, Weight Reduction, and rigidity options(not required).
Car to be running on Racing Hard ( R2 ) tires max.
The challenge takes place at Twin Ring Motegi Road Course in Free Run, and your best lap time is what you are judged on.
No Wall contact, 2 wheels on the road at all times, ripple strips included. Otherwise, its open season. The challenge is to end at the end of the month, at 23:59 on the 28th of February GTVault time...
Time to go driving.

Do you know what the maximum HP rating on this car is?
Also, did you copy the text from my Challenge into this one? because at Twin Ring Motegi RC you cannot make wall contact unless more than 2 wheels are off-road, and it ends on the 28th, not the 28st... lol.
Anyway, I'm in, and great choice of challenge.
See you around,
StigsTC
I just looked on the website, its 655hp, but I don't know if thats accurate...

Hey, imma be putting in some input on this round. You know Stigs, this Lotus Carlton reminds me of the Holden Commodore back in the 90's. Hey even Carlton is in Australia!
All Holden supporters can go eat Ford's dust

Actually Brette I see what you mean, however I am the reminded of the opel/holden calibra, which I come into contact with at a regular basis. Lotus is british, and a lot of our heritage comes from there so you never know, this car may be closer to Australia then you think.
I'm trying to keep PS2 usage down to weekends, so thats when I'll participate and post my setup from the previous challenge... maybe I'll find a 22B while I'm there.
Looking at the competition, it would appear that I'm fighting for 4th or 3rd!! Hopefully i'll be faster.

GT's and DP's from Grand-Am in GT5...
Just a little opinion from me everyone...
The Rolex 24 At Daytona ended January 31st here in the states. After watching all of it I'm comvinced that GT5 should have the Daytona Prototype (DP) and Grand Touring (GT) cars from the Grand-Am racing series. They are just soooooo fast and sooo well balanced! I mean c'mon, with the hum of a Mazda RX-8, Chevy Camaro in a GT car or, the ear-splitting roar of a BMW V8 in a DP...what's better Maybe I'm a little bit bias, because I"m American but, once you hear and see these cars you will feel the same way I do! By the way if you wanna' see pics of the GT's and DP's, here's the link: http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/article/rolex-24-race-gallery/

SpeedFreak09 The SCCA's Daytona Prototype are ok. The car's just do not looks the greatest. For me it's the ALMS and ACO LeMans prototype. The GT cars from all body's are fun to watch.

The DP cars probabley deserve to be there, I've seen them running, and they are quite good. The Grand-Ams not as much. They way as well be the GT2 class for the LeMans, despite they are much closer in competition. My only issue is that trying to run a GT in a LeMans 24 hours means that you can't actually win, because you get crushed by the LMP's, while only fight a few GT's. it would be cool to actully choose a class to run at Lemans, so you can have the 10 of whatever class you are in, + 20 of the other clases which race, but are not relevant to your race. But with damage that may not work.
The ALMS are usually able to be straight into te Lemans 24 hours with no modifications, so the LMP prototypes are pretty much the same as the ALMS, which I like.
I have to admit, the DP cars look like homologenated half arsed LMP rip offs, in that, they are very similar at first glance, and look kind of like LMP's but they havn't quite captured the look of the LMP.
They could be there, but on a simlar note are the cars of the FIA GT series in there? Which are Masseratis, Ferrari F430's, Chevrolet C6's and porsche 911's... Its kind of hard to say one series deserves to be there more than the others... like, WHERE ARE THE V8 SUPERCARS??? there was one in GT3, and the same car again in GT4.

Well I hope you guys have fun running over my time.. That is going to be about it for running the game this month.. not to mention that my times are not even close to being what they need to be and I have way too much interference... Seem to barely have time to do any of it.. Unless I start using a Game Shark cheat or something.. which I won't do.. ( I really hate this car too.. poorly designed for racing, really not worth the time to me..pointless )

I KNOW!!!
I got snubbed for 5 GT weeks before I got the Carlton, so I decided to just run the DTM race, which is 5 days, get the prize car ($743,xxx) - Mercedes CLK LM - delivered (1 day) and sell it (1 day) to tick over 7 days, 1 week, while 'earning' myself nearly 4.5 million credits. Not bad for 2 hours. Try that as a method Speedfreak! You can pay the car off really easily that way...

Nice to see that the car finally show up for all so far. I did not think about it being a used car. So like you I had to wait for it. It's good most are having fun driving the Carlton as it's my first time with it too. I find the car like to run with the rear out a little.

I agree. The car tries to step out and slide, but its hard to stop it from doing so, and a couple of tenths disapear everytime it does, but its great to drive.

I think the car needs work on the gearing so you can get the best out of the chassis. I have tried some change, but it's still not right.
board update.
