Thanks for the Support!!!!!!
When tuning cars a key element is that the area (Front or back) that has most weight, generaly needs to have a Stiffer Sring rate. Weight transfer needs to also be factored in as during braking more weight is transfered to the front. When dealing with SB, & SRB you need more strenth where its heavier as its dealing with more load (alwasy more SRB then SB) Weight transfering to the front during braking also accounts for brakes needing more strenth up front (with front heavy cars), because thats where it will require more power as to the Hevy Engine and added weight during braking weight transfer creates such a demand (Sring rates that are too week will overload during braking). MR cars have Lighter front ends and require weeker front SR& Damper settings because its dealing with less load. When dealing with cars that are 50/50, the weigth tranfore during braking distorts that ballance, and braking power needs to be adjusted accordingly. However during braking some MR cars that have more weight in the rear (Obviously) become more ballenced during braking because the weight becomes more evenly ballanced as some of it transfers to the front, so the seperation in brake power becomes smaller.
Its important to know that Increases to rear sring rates increases understeer, and decreases in rear spring rate increase oversteer.
HOWEVER!!!!!!
Some people Drive very intence in GT4. Going into corners Full Steam and braking hard on entry and throttling hard on exit from apex, Stiffer rear SR and more powerfull rear brake settings suport this, with a little TCS.
In GT4 there is no "Chicken" Factor. What I mean by this is that we will hammer these tracks with No reguard for the cars or our lives where in the real world going over the Hill on the Laguna Seca straight blind full throttle then slamming the brakes for the u turn, would only be done by the most skilled race car drivers (And I dont think even they would keep it WOT, and wait so long to brake or hammer them so hard)
I drive the Style with controled entry speed and proper race lines (Not saying proper race lines arnt possible with that style, Im saying the race lines used are somewhat diferent.) Keeping proper tuning adjustments (As to real world Tuning) suports this style best, & makes it easier to tune the cars, and easier to know how adjustments SHOULD effect the car, then seing HOW they effect the car in the game (PD was pretty Spot On with the Physics)
The Cool thing, is most of the Time the transmition will work great either style, and so will the LSD.
Im glad they worked out for you with your adaptions for your style, hopefully others who drive the same will get use out of your adjustments!
